In Australia and around the globe, our oceans are in deep trouble facing challenges on multiple fronts – warming, acidification, overuse. Australia’s oceans contain the richest, most diverse marine life on Earth, but they are now facing an extinction crisis. We need to rapidly build our understanding of oceans and marine life, how they are changing and how we can best adapt.
World Ocean Day was declared in 2008 by the UN, to catalyze collective action for a healthy ocean and a stable climate. Participate in a regional event, learn more about our oceans and contribute to their conservation.
