Gang-gang feathers still wanted!

Gang-gang in Murramarang National Park

The ACT Government is still seeking gang-gang feathers from outside the ACT – so if you see a feather send it off to them.

Around 300 feathers have been submitted so foar, most of which had genetic information. It helps them to have material from outside the region to understand broader varibility. DNA analysis can provide unexpected insights into the biology and ecology of birds – including effective population size, habitat use, mating systems and conservation status.
